Hi, Steve, thank you very much for a very enjoyable weekend. Your Immersion trips go from strength to strength. This was my third of your trips and for me it was the best yet. I was particularly taken with the way everyone interacted in a natural, supportive and knowledgeable way. This was possibly because of rather than in spite of all the different ability and age ranges of the participants. I sensed that for many of us the weekend was transformational in our relationship with Spanish language life and culture.
The trip was an overwhelmingly successful blend of language practice, social interaction and cultural exploration. The contrast between coastal Malaga and historical, inland Cordoba provided us with a rich and well-rounded perspective on Spanish life and history. Cultural highlights included: The Alcazaba and Gibralfaro Castle in Malaga, the Mezquita Cathedral, Roman Bridge and Jewish Quarter in Cordoba. Social highlights included (for some) impromptu participation in a Spanish bride-to-be event, riding the 200-mph train between the cities, watching a massive, highly vocal but very civilised demo about public health provision. A night-time view of Malaga from a rooftop bar and a visit to a traditional bodega. I would highly recommend giving these trips a go to anyone who is hesitant. I am aware that "the immersion trip programme" is planned to develop in dynamic ways in future years. Good luck to all fellow future participants. Dave
April 2025 Granada trip
Thank you for a wonderful immersion trip, and for giving us all the opportunity to practice Spanish with some local people over coffee. The
planned excursions, the tour guide, the group lessons were all excellent experiences. I would have no hesitation to do this all over again. Friends for life are made from these trips. Thank you to our teacher Steve, for your expertise and dedication to detail. Maureen
A great trip with a fun and friendly group of people. The balance between “fun” and learning was perfect and as ever Steve did his best to encourage us to speak Spanish and make the most of the opportunities we had. Really well prepared and organised, particularly finding and using our “guide” but also, now friend Bianca to show us around and help us speak Spanish, as well as organising our tour guide for the Alhambra visit. Granada was a fascinating city and the prefect venue. Already looking forward to the next trip. Matthew
Thank you so much to everyone for making the weekend amazing! Loved getting to know you all and helping each other with our Spanish! It really does just flow easier when you are immersed in the country and culture. Can't wait to meet up with you all for the reunion over some sangria and tapas! And of course, thank you, Steve, Smashed it! Ilma & Simon

November 2024 Alicante trip
This was my first Spanish immersion trip, but it definitely won't be my last. I had a really great time, and I feel it gave me the confidence to speak much more Spanish. Because everywhere we went, Steve asked the staff to only speak in Spanish, we were exposed to much more of the language than we would if we were on holiday. It was also great to meet fellow students and make lots of new friends. I would recommend it to all Spanish students whatever your level is. Ryan
Hi fellow learners: I have just returned from my second immersion trip and hope you will find this feedback helpful. An immersion trip is a great opportunity wherever you are in your Spanish journey. Take the opportunity to throw yourself into the experience in a safe space. Whatever your level the trip will support you and build your confidence. Our trips have combined varied and fun learning opportunities and an opportunity to experience the authentic Spain. On this trip one highlight we experienced was a small local bar and Flamenco show. Alicante is very welcoming and anyone who makes the opportunity to speak the language will only gain in skills and confidence. Steve carefully plans and researches each trip and the needs of what might be a mixed group are met. Y por supuesto el vino tinto y ‘vermouth o’clock’ son excelentes. Marcia
